The unofficial Thurlby 10k run

Amy brought Dan and Katy over for the weekend. Amy is all smiles and wants to try out everything.

Katy fancied a run on Saturday morning and Roy came out of retirement to go road running for the first time in 40 years. The pull of the Thurlby 10k road race route proved too strong. The old running magic came flooding back but only lasted for some 100 yards or so. Actually I did well to complete the 10k race and felt in reasonable shape at the end. The bad news is that I got beaten by a girl. This has severely dented my Olympic prospects.

After recovering we all went off to Rutland Water for a walk and then a swim at Barnsdale. Amy took to the water as grandpa and grandma headed for the sauna. All this 'exercise' was topped off with double milk shakes and burgers at the OK Diner. Alf Tupper would have been proud of us and maybe the Olympic dream is not over yet.

Amy has mastered the art of sitting and waiting for text messages to stream in from her admirers.

Anyone for a turkey sandwich?

Christmas dinner was down to Rebecca and her prowess as the Turkey cook. Amy really enjoyed the whole experience and provided most of the entertainment.

On the day before New Year's eve Adam and Ivette came over to check out how their future daughter-in-law is progressing. The news is that she is about to start teething. You might rate this as being one up from watching paint dry, but it is the big talking point in the Gosling household.

Rebecca went off to the cinema to watch Sherlock Holmes and left us at home to play LOGO. After the third attempt I mananged to get on a winning team. A winner and I now know why Haribos are called Haribos; life cannot get much better!
